We Two in the World and Beyond

Even if you don't say it, I know
That you don't love me now
I can't understand why
Starting today I'll show if you do

I will return to my house and then
If I can I will cry
Talk to you about my new world
My illusions
And discover that
You fell asleep and don't listen anymore

I would like for you to tell me
What you have against me
As if I was not being myself
You tell me you're leaving

I'm the one that breathes softly
Pretending to sleep
And in the silence
It is by calling (?)
That you wake up
And tonight you show your soul
And you complete what it is to be a woman

You and me in the world and beyond
A truth joins us
Just give me your love
You know I love you

You and me in the world and beyond
A truth joins us

You and me in the world and beyond
A truth joins us

You and me in the world and beyond
A truth joins us

Alone with Myself

It is just eight o'clock and the house awakens.
A radio plays a song at a neighbor's house.
I butter toast standing in the kitchen
because you're always hungry in the morning.
Then each of us hurries and, on your fresh cheek,
I caress you and say: 'Until tonight.'
And you hurry away while, from my window,
I give you a good-bye wave.

You left and I stay here.
I stay alone, alone with myself.
All my life, I pass it here.
I stay alone, all alone at home.

I have what I want—the best and the worst—
the golden life and the desire to leave.
They say I'm lucky but I cry in silence
on my big bed and over my future.
Behind my grin, they do not see the evidence
of those desires that tear apart the heart—
for the gentleman across the street, for the young man passing by—
for a moment of love, for a quarter of an hour.

You left and I stay here.
I stay alone, alone with myself.
All my life, I pass it here.
I stay alone, all alone at home.

That's my vie en rose, always to do the same thing
while following the path that has been laid out for me.
Like all women, I have the same schedule,
and 'The Today Show' on TV.
Nobody imagines that I might have real thoughts—
that sometimes I might want to travel.
The adventure is over, despite myself—I'm sure
that nothing will ever happen to me.

You left and I stay here.
Me here alone, alone with myself.
All my life, I pass it here.
Is it really happiness, all this?

Dark Rays

Versions:
I want to see your room, your secret chamber
Dusty from the years, lost

The fear of your childhood
The love of your youth
The glance of the dead
Islands of joy and of shame

Oh
Dark rays of night
Hit your worn down floor
Oh
The universe in glass
Hits your worn down floor

Nothing lasts forever
But if something did
It would be your nebula gaze

Silent seagulls
Mists of stars
Overlooked desire
Oceans of the things we have forgotten

Oh
Dark rays of night
Hit your worn down floor
Oh
The universe in glass
Hits your worn down floor

I want to see your room, your secret chamber
Dusty from the years, lost

I'm standing in a store, on the run
On Søndre Boulevard
Caught in the chance we had

Oh
Dark rays of night
Hit your worn down floor
Oh
The universe in glass
Hits your worn down floor

The World Turns Without You

It would require that I stop
Saying that I will stop
It would require that I permit
The void to come live inside me
It would require that I learn
To count how many times I've said
That there was nothing left
And how many times I've lied to myself

The world turns without you
And more I play
And more I lose
I would like so much to fall over
Fall over

It would require that your mouth
Not be my only reason
And that avoiding the issue
Not be my single reaction
It would require that I flood myself
With somber colours your memories
And that I tell everyone
That you're no longer there
But I know not how to say it
It would require that I come back
When I leave to get lost in your sheets
It would require that I remember
How not to want you
It would require that I trace
The routes that I never dared
It would require that I erase
All those that we had drawn

The world turns without you
And more I play
And more I lose
I would like so much to fall over
The world turns without you
And more I play
And more I lose

And the world turns without you
And the world and the world turns without you
And the world and the world turns without you
And the world and the world turns without you
And the world and the world turns without you
And the world and the world turns without you
And the world and the world turns without you
And the world and the world turns without you

It would require that your mouth
Not be my only reason
The world turns without you
And more I play
And more I lose
And the world turns without you

Her

Sometimes I almost feel like
There’s someone else in my heart
My mind wants to run away from you
The other one says no

Her, who still feels crazy over you
Her, to free once again your why’s
Oh her, who lives on excuses and doesn’t know
She has lost you now

Her, who thinks of you as someone you’re not
Her, who always sees you grown-up
Her, who rises stronger than ever
From all your blows

I’m yielding to you but I can tell you that
I don’t approve my surrender
It's that other fool part of me
Who trusts you

How many things I see I’m no longer okay with
I feel worthless
But in the end, do not worry, you win
She’s on your side

Her, who still feels crazy over you
Her, to free once again your why’s
Oh her, who lives on excuses and doesn’t know
She has lost you now

Her, who rises stronger than ever
From all your blows
